Burial is definitely the next step of music evolution, labeled dubstep, his latest work Untrue has not much in common with this genre. It is poetry, it is life, it is imagination, it’s really hard to describe. The whole mood of the record is like Japanese ambient cyberpunk, with dusk megacity soundscapes, samurai training and biotechnology.
Music itself mixes ambient with unusual beats and remixed vocal samples. The first untitled track of the album is a king of into to first hit Archangel that will give a first impression about this spectacular album. So if the sound of this track is not your type you can press stop and throw away the CD. If you will decide to move on, you will drown in the ocean of samples ranging from Christina Aguilera to Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid games, not forgetting Beyonce and Aaliyah. Small interludes like In McDonalds are also there.
Actually Burial is good music for work and for relaxation, for early mornings and late evenings, for grey depression and huge love. It’s just genius.
