The metal mood of Pat Boone, a very popular religious gospel and country singer had a bad ending for him, for one year he was denied from church. Most of the metalheads and press considered this to be a fake, religious people considered this blasphemy, but a number of open minded people like me considered this to be a great swing arrangement of metal songs.
Aside from a denim jacket and a rock-n-roll hairstyle Pat uses the whole orchestra, band and a choir for this great work. The tracklist speaks for itself: You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’ by Judas Priest, Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple, It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll) by AC/DC, Enter Sandman by Metallica, Holy Diver by Dio, Paradise City by Guns N’ Roses, Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne and the rock classic Stairway to Heaven originally by Led Zeppelin.
This album released in 1997 created a whole subgenre of swing covers where Richard Cheese immediately took up the flag.
