This Australian band is relatively unknown in outside their homeland, but very popular in the land of Kangaroos. The first time that I heard their song, was in the movie Death Race (the 2008 one which is a remake of the old movie with Sylvester Stallone), it is played during the webcam sequences. Danko Jones is a three-piece Canadian rock band formed in 1996, that’s the official part. The unofficial is that they have one of the most charismatic vocalists on the modern rock scene. Combined with a great “rock mixed with a bit punk and immense party attitude” music these guys are one of the most interesting rock bands today. They can be easily labeled as modern-day Motorhead.

Hindria Spacefolk is a unique Finnish space rock band. Drawing influence from the famous Ozric Tentacles and adding numerous instruments (cello, violin, flute, didgeridoo, marimba, mandolin, sitar and vibraphone) to their style makes this band a must-hear for any space or science fiction fan. With three spectacular albums this band is definitely one of the most interesting progressive space rock bands today. They just have the needed skill to make complex songs sound simple and even groovy.
